Mary Ellen Shannon, MD

Mary Ellen Shannon, M.D. graduated from Northern Illinois University and received a degree in nursing and a minor in chemistry. She worked as a registered nurse while continuing her education at the University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School. She completed a residency at the Phoenix Integrative OB/GYN residency program in 1991.

As she worked tirelessly to deliver babies and to advance her career as a OB/GYN, Dr. Shannon began neglecting her health. Loss of sleep, appetite, and energy disconnected her from good health. Soon enough, Dr. Shannon found herself coming face-to-face with a life-threatening illness called hemochromatosis. Dr. Shannon nearly lost her life to the condition that triggered multi organ failure. When conventional treatments took her nowhere, Dr. Shannon was forced to think outside the box. She researched extensively on treatments that could help and found a life-changing solution: Ozone Therapy. Ozone Therapy is a natural treatment that rids your body of toxins and microbes while optimizing the immune systems. Today, Dr. Shannon has more experience administering this therapy than nearly any other American physician. Dr. Shannon specializes in Lyme disease treatment and is one of the world’s leading physicians in the field of Ozone Therapy. She has administered this therapy on herself frequently to remedy her health conditions.  Dr. Shannon is warm, caring, empathetic. She is a physician and a pioneer in her field who thinks outside the box when addressing complex conditions such as Lyme. She also has an extensive experience and training treating many neurodegenerative conditions, as well as cancer.

Utilizing advanced technology practiced in Germany called “Insulin Potentiated Photodynamic Therapy,” Dr. Shannon has seen this treatment work synergistically with patient’s bodies and with all types of cancers. The Insulin Potentiated Photodynamic Therapy increases absorption of photosensitization of cancer cells and is improved when paired with infrared laser such as external, LED bed, or endolaser technology.

Recently, she focuses on using this treatment for breast cancer as it can isolate breast tumors and produce no side effects. As all cancers work on anaerobic metabolism, Dr Shannon’s technology affects the mitochondrial-level to revert the cellular metabolism back to normal. Her passion is helping others and treating patients who have unique healing challenges. Her goal is to empower and educate people to achieve optimal health and to learn from her mistakes: “Don’t take life for granted.”
